David first sensed the call to minister on the Navajo Reservation when he visited Rolanda’s family for the first time in 1999. During this visit, God began to place strong burden on David’s heart for the Diné (Navajo), and over the intervening years that burden has continued to grow as they have both prayed for discernment on how they might serve the Lord in ministry on the Navajo Reservation.
In 2010, David returned to school to be better equipped for ministry. He completed his course of study in June of 2012, earning a Master of Arts in Practical Theology from Ashland Theological Seminary. That course of study better equipped him with a deeper understanding of Scripture, practical ministry skills, and cross-cultural awareness.
In 2013, the Sutter’s moved to Bloomfield, NM to minister in the northeastern part of the Navajo Reservation, eventually joining NAIM in 2015. David is serving God through relational ministry, community outreach and evangelism, preaching, teaching, pastoral care, youth events, and discipleship. He has a passion in his heart to bring people hope through the Gospel, and to disciple individuals to be strong in their faith and to be leaders in the church.
