Don and Mary began their ministry in British Columbia 1982 among the Lil’wat People of the Sta’ atl’ imx Nation. After 25 years in Mt. Currie, the DeHarts moved near the NAIM office toward helping to increase indigenous voices and faces in the NAIM team.
The DeHarts are part of the First Nations Partnership (FNP) Team of NAIM in support of what God is doing in the emerging First Nations Church. Don and Mary are serving alongside Native First Nations co-workers helping to provide resources and training for First Nation staff and enlisting First Nations people to disciple their own. This involves gathering finances to help launch start-up and project ministries with First Nations co-workers”¦doing together what we cannot do alone. First Nations Partnership is an intentional initiative toward NAIM becoming 50% staffed by First Nations by 2018.
Don and Mary continue in evangelism and disciplining roles in Mt. Currie. They work full-time in the summer months with Youth Camps, Cross-cultural ministry teams and indigenous mission trips.
