Karen and Spencer are a couple from South Africa who have been wonderfully touched by the Lord to work amongst the First Nations People in Canada. After reading the biography of David Brainerd who worked amongst the First Nation Tribes in Delaware in the USA during the 1700’s I can clearly remember being quickened in my spirit that maybe someday….
This was more than 20 years ago and after being missionaries in India for nearly 16 years, and spending some time teaching at a Bible school (Africa School of Missions in White River South Africa) Jesus clearly moved our hearts when the plight of the First Nations People was highlighted through a BBC Documentary. It just didn’t want to go away and as we ventured out in prayer and faith, the Holy Spirit kept putting one beacon in front of the other until there was so much light that we knew without a shadow of a doubt that this was where we as a couple and our three boys (Reuben -16, Simeon -12 and Benjamin -8) needed to be. After spending 2 months as Summer Interns with the House for all Nations in Saskatoon where we personally worked amongst many First Nations individuals Karen and I have a passion and heart for these precious people that few words can articulate. It’s a burning desire to make Christ known in all His majesty that gives us purpose, hope and joy. We would not have it any other way! God really is just SO GOOD!
