Kevin and Samantha moved to the Okanagan in 2019 with their 4 children, previously coming from Northern BC and Calgary/Dallas,TX. Samantha has always had a heart for Indigenous communities as she grew up in an Indigenous household, with her stepmom and auntie bringing their respective cultures into her life. She served in short term missions with women in domestic violence and trafficking, which led her to go back to university to become a registered social worker to provide counselling to Indigenous women with addictions and trauma. Kevin grew up in the Shuswap and has been around NAIM through his friendship with his best friend Tim Johnson for 20 years. He has witnessed the impact that the entire Johnson family has had to the communities that they have served.
God called us to ministry work in early 2025 and God has been laying the groundwork ever since. Kevin currently works for the Splatsin band in their economic development arm, building relationships. God has also brought us to a small church that is on the reserve, started by a small group of believers from the reserve. We have been working alongside them to help build up the church with discipleship and evangelism through weekly bible studies and relationship building. We lead worship with our three sons and have loved seeing our children get involved in our ministry. We are excited to see what God continues to unfold for our family and the direction of our ministry.
